Wilkening, a 20-year-old German farmer, was employed to help carry wounded soldiers across Germany and back to France.
In 1918, George Cassens, grandson of Hans H. Wilkening, seized an opportunity to enter the automotive industry. At 38, he became a sub-dealer for John Brandes Garage in Marine, Illinois, selling new Reo automobiles. This marked the beginning of Cassens Transport’s evolution into a prominent player in the transportation sector. The company now continues to build on its heritage, providing reliable transport services with a focus on quality and efficiency.
